3 amazing women who broke through the glass ceiling

As a businesswoman who broke through the glass ceiling due to my success in Real Estate, I always love to hear about other successful women and learn their secrets. I was surprised to learn that the total number of female CEOs of Fortune 500 companies today has reached 24. Paving the way for more women to excel in business, they all say the key to excelling in business stems from hard word, constant dedication and vision, which I have found to be true. Here are three businesswomen I admire:
1) Carol Meyrowitz, TJX Companies
This dynamo has led her company to its current rank as No. 108 in the 2014 Fortune 500 listing. TJX Companies, which umbrellas T.J.Maxx, Marshalls, Home Goods, and Sierra Trading Post in the United States, Canada, and Europe is the world’s leading off-price retail company. Meyrowitz, who is a graduate of Rider University, has managed to raise $16 billion in revenue to over $27 billion.

2) Marillyn Hewson, Lockheed Martin
Named the 34th most powerful woman in the world by Forbes in 2013, this powerful businesswoman has been named one of Fortune magazine’s 50 Most Powerful Women in Business for the past four years. Her reputation as a powerful woman comes from her leadership position within Lockheed Martin.

Phebe Novakovic, General Dynamics
Ranking number 11 on Fortune’s Most Powerful Women of 2014, this financial genius made a name for herself as the woman who brought General Dynamics back from financial disaster. A former employee of the U.S. Department of Defense and the CIA, Novakovic took over in January of 2013 just after General Dynamics, one of the world’s top defense contractors, lost $332 million. The company posted $2.4 billion in profits in 2013 due to her changes.
