If you are planning to sell your home, then you will want to pay attention to these real estate trends that attract buyers. Four hundred thirty-five real estate professionals were surveyed about what buyers are looking for in luxury homes today. Here are the results:
•    Open floor plans
•    Move-in-ready homes
•    Granite in areas such as bathrooms or kitchens
•    Upgraded windows
•    Locations near public transportation
•    Energy-saving appliances
•    Large closets
•    Updated lighting fixtures
•    Two-story home with a bedroom on the main floor
•    Wood floors
I highly suggest that you contemplate doing some basic renovations. It is my experience that homes that incorporate the basic features listed above can sell quickly at or above asking price.
The survey also listed the following features that are considered NOT attractive to buyers today:
•    Popcorn ceilings
•    Carpet
•    Lack of parking
•    Small kitchens and bathrooms
•    Minimal amount of natural light
•    Dated homes
•    Wallpaper
•    Low ceilings
•    Limited storage space
•    Loud location on a busy street
