Independence Day 2017 rocks in Santa Barbara
The City of Santa Barbara’s traditional Fourth of July beachfront celebration is back and better than ever! Join other revelers at the beautiful Santa Barbara waterfront along West Beach on Independence Day for an afternoon and evening of food, music, fireworks, and fun for all ages.
Celebrate from 11AM to 9PM
Festivities at the Santa Barbara waterfront and Stearns Wharf begin at 11AM and the fun continues until 9PM. Enjoy a music variety show featuring local musicians as well as local shop and food vendors, face painting, and more. You can even enjoy a cocktail from Tequila Mockingbird on the wharf. End the day with fireworks and music at West Beach, plus the return of the radio simulcast, courtesy of 92.9 KJEE. New this year – extended festivities! Bands begin performing on Stearns Wharf at 11AM and on West Beach at noon.
Parking info
Waterfront parking lots will be open on the Fourth of July, with Stearns Wharf closing to vehicular traffic from 3PM – 9:30PM. A beachfront parking lot map is available for download.
Bicycle Parking
Riding a bike is a great way to attend the festivities. The City provides additional bike racks during the event. A bike rack location map is also available.

Use local buses and downtown and waterfront shuttles to make transportation easy. The holiday schedule is below, but you can also check the MTD website for the most up-to-date information.
4th of July Fireworks Cruise
Set sail to watch the sunset behind the Santa Barbara coastline, enjoy the colors of the Pacific twilight as nightfall sets into the blackened sky, finishing with a spectacular fireworks display. Guaranteed the best seat for the 4th of July celebration. The sailing yacht departs at 7:30 PM for a two-hour cruise. Other cruise times available on the 4th as well: 10:30 AM, 2 PM, and 5 PM ($40).
