Go around the world in search of big cats with award-winning photographer Steve Winter without leaving Santa Barbara. Part of the University of California Santa Barbara Arts & Lectures series, the National Geographic Live events are open to all who are interested in learning more about our planet, or in this case, the big cats we share it with.
Held in Campbell Hall, located on the UCSB Campus off Mesa Road and University Plaza, the Trail of Big Cats takes place on March 6 at 3 pm featuring the escapades of Winter, an explorer who shares his adventures in Asian jungles, That’s where resilient tiger populations persist. He will also show the home of rare snow leopards in the Himalaya.
“By saving the world’s top predators, we save huge forests, rivers, wildlife, and ultimately, our planet,” explains Winter.
Attendees will travel with him into the rainforests of Latin America to view the elusive jaguar. He’ll take you on a journey to Hollywood in pursuit of the American cougar and more.
Co-author of the book Tigers Forever, Winter works to save these majestic animals. His mission is to share the beauty of big cats. You can pick up a copy of his book at the event.
